Links: Sam J. Miller, Ted Chiang, & Bennett Sims

My amazing Clarion classmate Sam J. Miller has been tearin’ it up fiction-wise in the last month. His story “Sabi, Wabi, Aware, Yugen” is at Daily Science Fiction, “The Beasts We Want to Be” is at Electric Velocipede, and “57 Reasons for the Slate Quarry Suicides” is at Nightmare Magazine.

The Economist has a piece up about the essential Ted Chiang.

Complex listed Bennett Sim’s A Questionable Shape and Lucas Mann’s Class A: Baseball in the Middle of Everywhere as two of the best books of 2013.

Ann Bauer has written a smart, thoughtful essay about writing and being honest about privilege at Beyond the Margins. Highly recommended.
