My Brilliant Friends

I am incredibly lucky to count among my friends a bunch of brilliant and talented writers. Here’s some work that people I love have been publishing lately:

Ben Mauk has just published a wonderful essay about David Foster Wallace and Nicholson Baker at the Los Angeles Review of Books.

Evan James has a delightfully funny, touching piece about being a gay uncle at the New York Times’ “Modern Love” column, “A Role He Was Born to Play.”

Amy Parker’s amazing story “The Balcony” is up at FiveChapters.

Bennett Sims’ novel An Exceptional Shape has been picked up by Two Dollar Radio, to be released next May. There’s a great interview with him about it here.
