A three-year-old in a Superman outfit recites Tennyson’s “The Eagle”.

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

(And my ovaries make silly “meep” noises in response.)

    I just realized what I did wrong with you as my child. I should have read you more of classics and classic writers. Sorry that I let you down. Love me, anyway. Love MOM

    Yes, you are a writer, despite having a farm-girl, not very intelligent mother. Not that it is a bad thing, I always said that you got your smarts from your father and your perky personality from me. At least I was smart enough to marry a wonderful intelligent man and raise three wonderful children, maybe I am smarter than I think. Think, think, think…somehow pooh bear comes to mind. Love Mom
